Minerals: Inorganic substances essential for plant growth and development.
Minerals are the basic building blocks that plants need to thrive. They’re like the essential ingredients in a recipe for healthy plant growth. Plants get these minerals from the soil, using them for everything from building strong cell walls to producing chlorophyll for photosynthesis.
While plants need a variety of minerals, some are required in larger amounts than others. These are called macronutrients, and they include nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. There are also micronutrients, which are needed in smaller amounts but are just as important. Healthy soil with a good balance of minerals is key to a thriving garden.
