Gameticide: A substance that kills gametes (reproductive cells).
In a home gardening context, gameticides are not typically used. Gametes are the reproductive cells of plants (pollen and egg cells), and gardeners are generally interested in promoting, not preventing, their healthy function for successful pollination and seed/fruit production. The concept of killing gametes is more relevant in research settings or perhaps in very specialized plant breeding programs, not in typical home gardening practices.
