Broadcast: To scatter seeds or fertilizer widely.
Broadcasting is a simple and efficient way to distribute seeds or fertilizer over a large area. Instead of carefully placing each seed or granule, you scatter them by hand or with a spreader. This method is often used to plant lawns, cover crops, or spread granular fertilizers.
While broadcasting is quick, it’s essential to do it evenly to ensure uniform coverage. You can use a hand-held spreader for smaller areas or a larger, wheeled spreader for larger areas. When broadcasting seeds, remember that you might need to use more seeds than if you were planting individually, as some may not germinate. For fertilizers, follow the recommended application rate to avoid over-fertilizing.
