Growing Ash Gourd

Ash gourd (Benincasa hispida) is an annual vining plant that absolutely loves warm climates and a long growing season. It’s a bit of a sprawler, so make sure you have enough space for it to grow!

  • Sunlight: Ash gourd needs plenty of sunshine! Choose a spot in your garden that receives full sun, ideally 6-8 hours of direct sunlight per day.
